A Letter from the Founders

Some ideas don’t start in a boardroom. This one started on a mountain.

We were hiking one of our favorite trails on Mount Tamalpais, the kind of walk where the air slows you down whether you want it to or not, when the conversation turned to water.

Not just water as a product. Water as something we interact with every day, often without thinking.

We sat with that for a while. Then one of us said it out loud.

People are already drinking things named after death and darkness. Energy drinks built around intensity, aggression, and fear. Nobody seems to think twice about it.

But what if something as simple as water could be different?

That question didn’t let go.

It connected to something Gina had carried for years. Early in our relationship, she would whisper love into water before serving it. It wasn’t performance. It was practice, a quiet belief that what we offer each other can be more intentional. Her life and work, from the courtroom to her story in Brooklyn Grit, have always been grounded in the power of words and how we show up. Darrell came to it more recently, but had seen the same thing in a different way, in leadership, in decision-making, in the simple act of slowing down enough to actually be present.

That conversation on the mountain was where those two worlds met.

And when they did, we knew.

Not because of a theory. Because of experience.

We didn’t want to create another product layered with claims or complexity. We wanted something simpler. Something you could actually use.

So we built it.

Pure, still water. No enhancements. No promises.

Just a practice:

Pause.

Breathe.

Hold.

Drink.

Four small steps that take less than a minute and give something back.

The practice is the point. The water is the delivery system.

And sometimes, there’s a word. A single word you can hold in that moment, not to define you, just to focus you. A light layer of intention inside the pause.

It’s not a cure. It’s a cue. A small interruption in the middle of a day that might otherwise run straight through you.

And it’s bigger than us. For every gallon we sell, we donate a gallon of clean water to someone who doesn’t have access to it. Because water is more than an idea. It’s life. And everyone deserves it.
