A Letter from the Founders

A letter from the Founders of Practice Water

Some ideas don't start in a boardroom. This one started on a mountain.

We were hiking one of our favorite trails on Mt. Tamalpais - the kind of walk where the air slows you down whether you want it to or not - when the conversation turned to water. Not just water as a product. Water as something that receives.

We'd been talking about the work of Dr. Masaru Emoto, a Japanese researcher who spent decades studying how water responds to human intention. His experiments showed that water exposed to words like love and gratitude formed beautiful crystalline structures when frozen. Water exposed to words like hate or fear formed something broken and chaotic. The idea is simple and quietly radical: words carry energy, and what we put into something matters.

We sat with that for a while. Then one of us said it out loud.

People are already drinking things named after death and darkness. Energy drinks with names built around destruction and fear. Nobody seems to think twice about it. But if words carry energy - if intention lives in language - what are we actually putting into our bodies?

The question didn't let go.

It connected to something Gina had carried for years. Early in our relationship, she would whisper love into water before serving it. It wasn't performance. It was practice - the quiet belief that what we offer each other can be made more intentional. She had built her life around the power of words, of affirmations, of what happens when you direct your energy with care. Darrell had come to it more recently, but had seen it work firsthand. In his own life. In the leaders he worked alongside.

That conversation on the mountain was where those two worlds met. And when they did, we knew.

We both knew what the research suggested. We both knew what we'd lived. And we thought: what if a product started from that place? Not from marketing. Not from a trend. From the belief that something as simple as water could be an act of intention.

So we built it. Pure, still water. No enhancements. No claims. Just four steps that take thirty seconds and give something back.

Pause. Breathe. Hold. Drink.

It's not a cure. It's a cue. A small moment of presence in the middle of a day that might otherwise run straight through you.

And it's bigger than us. For every gallon we sell, we donate a gallon of clean water to someone who doesn't have access to it. Because water is intention, yes. But it's also life. And everyone deserves it.

Practice Water is for anyone who's ever felt like they were moving too fast to actually be here. We made it for you - and we made it with love.

Welcome to the practice.
